Water Disinfection Systems

water disinfection systems in NYDrinking Water Chlorination
With our "outside the well" chlorination systems, chlorine is injected with a pump into the water between the well and the pressure tank. The chlorine then runs through a large storage tank to allow contact time. Next, a backwashing tank removes the chlorine and other contaminants like iron, sulfur, manganese, dirt, turbidity, tastes, odors, and organics. A softener then removes hardness and calcium. We also recommend a sediment filter for wells with any sediment or dirt problems.

Our chlorination drinking water disinfection system addresses iron and iron bacteria, e-coli bacteria, coliform bacteria and other contaminants. A problem with iron bacteria alone does not require retention time or retention tanks.

If you have acid water, soda ash or other ingredients can also be added to a liquid chlorinator to raise the pH levels above 7.2. Why? Low pH greatly reduces or hampers a water softener's ability to perform properly and acidic water corrodes household pipes and fixtures. To remove harmful bacteria, this system requires a retention tank large enough to give the water 20 to 30 minutes of contact time.

Retention Tanks (Residential)
For water disinfection/treatment there is no better choice than our retention tanks. Composite construction makes the tank impervious to the chemicals found in aggressive water.

  1. Corrosion-proof composite construction
  2. Inlet/Outlet PVC Pipe Connections
  3. Blowdown Valve - for easy removal of sludge from tank bottom
  4. Hydropneumatic Convertible
  5. Factory Backed Warranty: Five year warranty
  6. Light Weight minimizes labor cost; no need for heavy equipment"

Ultraviolet (UV) Disinfection Systems
Ultraviolet (UV) should be used if disease-carrying pathogens, microorganisms, can enter your water supply. When bacteria, viruses, and other microorganisms are exposed to Ultraviolet light at a particular wavelength (253.7 nanometers) their reproductive capabilities are destroyed, which means that they are inactivated and no longer pose a threat to human health.

With an Ultraviolet Disinfection System, water enters the unit through the inlet port of the Ultraviolet generator cell.  The treated water then exits through the outlet port of the generator cell and is ready for consumption.

Key Benefits:
  • Environmentally Safe - No Chemicals Required
  • Effective on a Wide Range of Pathogens
  • Low Operating Costs
  • Low Maintenance
  • No Taste or Odor
